South East London is one of the London Plan's designated sub-regions. This area is home to more than 1.3 million people and is comprised of the boroughs of Bromley, Bexley, Southwark, Greenwich, and Lewisham. Southwark is also becoming a popular alternative for companies looking for affordable office space within easy reach of central London. A similar trend has been observed in Greenwich, where an important number of IT, communications, and creative industries have been clustering around the Digital Peninsula. Tourism and education are other important industry sectors in Greenwich.
