Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland, was the fourth new town built in Scotland following the Second World War. It is situated approximately 15 miles west of Edinburgh and 30 miles east of Glasgow.

Historically an oil shale mining community, Livingston has seen a number of light industries establish themselves in the community since the 1960s. High technology and pharmaceutical companies, the National Health Service, and the retail sector are among the largest employers in the town.

Livingston is less than 7 miles from Edinburgh Airport. Livingston North and Livingston South railway stations provide regular services to Glasgow and Edinburgh, while regional bus services are available from the town’s central bus terminal. The M8 motorway is situated to the north of the town, while the A899 to the east links with the M8.
