Local Area Info


Farringdon is located within the London Borough of Islington. The name has been used to describe the area since at least the 13th century. It is home to the St. Bartholomew's Hospital and Smithfield Market, one of London's oldest markets. Once a livestock market as early as the 10th century, Smithfield now features butchers, shops and restaurants. Chancery Lane, which is dominated by legal, consulting and ancillary firms, is also found within Farrington.

The area is served by Farringdon station, which offers connections to the London Underground and national rail services.
