Cannon Street sits in the south of the City of London. Running parallel to the River Thames, the road was once home to candle makers. Originally named Candelwrichstrete Street in 1190, the name has changed more than 60 times until its current name was adopted in the 17th century.

Cannon Street runs from St. Paul's Cathedral towards King William Street and Gracechurch Street near Monument tube station. It is home to one of the largest concentrations of pubs in the City of London, as well as firms representing a variety of financial and service sectors. Cannon Street station is the terminus for the South Eastern Main Line. It is also served by the London Underground's Circle and District lines.
