Warwick is the home of the history Warwick Castle, which was founded in 1068 during the Norman conquest of England. The town centre features a wealth of historic buildings, although much of medieval Warwick was destroyed by fire in 1694.
Warwick is situated on the M40 motorway corridor between Birmingham and London. Given its proximity to several north-south and east-west motorway corridors, Warwick is home to the headquarters of several national and international firms. National Grid plc's National Gas Control Centre is located at the Warwick Technology Park, which is situated south of the town centre.
