About Belmont Business Park

Belmont Business Park was developed by Helios (Belmont) Ltd and Whelan Construction. The eleven building site is found within the Belmont Industrial Estate and is one of the largest business parks in the North East. Belmont is accessible by the primary estate road and is bordered by an inner security fence, offering a secure work environment for tenants and their employees. The site features on-site parking, state-of-the-art IT and communications systems, CCTV monitoring and 24-hour access, and high-speed broadband service. Pedestrian paths provide access to a range of local amenities, including a post office and a supermarket. Additional off-site amenities include a fitness centre, hotel, and retail services.

Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Authority announced in June 2012 that it would move its headquarters to Belmont Business Park. Its new headquarters will be housed in a complex originally built to serve as the North East England Regional Control Centre, a self-contained and secure development that would have replaced fire control rooms in Northumberland, Durham, Teeside, and Tyne and Wear. After the scheme was scrapped in 2010, the complex has remained vacant. The facility has 2,790 square metres of office space over three floors. Belmont is also home to Allergate House, a modern venue with facilities for events, meetings, and conferences. Allergate House also has training and interview suites, catering services, and on-site parking.

Belmont Business Park is located just off Junction 62 of the A1(M) motorway. Newcastle upon Tyne is 15 miles north of the business park, while Sunderland is approximately 9 miles to the north east. Belmont Business Park is within a 30-minute drive of Newcastle Airport to the north and within 40 minutes of Teeside Airport to the south. Durham railway station is approximately 10 minutes away and offers regular services to towns across the United Kingdom. Bus service from Broomside Lane at the entrance of the Belmont Industrial Estate also provides regular connections to and from Durham for employees and visitors.
